Clear Aligner Tips

  1. Take them off before you eat or drink (apart from clear water) –Bacteria can get trapped underneath the aligners and can cause decay or staining.

  2. Use a straw – If you must drink liquids other than plain water with aligners on, use a straw to avoid decay-causing sugars being trapped underneath the aligners.

  3. Keep them clean – You can use retainer cleaning tablets such as Polident Cleaner, or just use your tooth brush with tooth paste.

  4. Avoid hard foods – when you chew harder foods, it can knock the attachments off.
E.g. nuts, crab shells, popcorn, etc.

  5. Do not lose it – It take weeks for the lab to manufacture and deliver

  6. Wear them for as long as you can – aligners are designed to be worn 20 hours a day. If you really can’t wear them that long, please let the doctor know. It may extend the treatment length.
